
RBK, Noga bag World Final slots as Red Bull half-court tournament concludes

This will be the second time Kenya will be representing the country in the global competition, having made their debut in Egypt last year.
With a chance to feature in the Red Bull half court world final in Belgrade, Serbia up for grabs, RBK men’s team and Noga women’s side left nothing to chance as they fought for the titles as the national tourney concluded on Saturday 17 June.
RBK and Noga were crowned the overall winners as the finals of the games were played at the United States International University (USIU) grounds in Nairobi.
The tournament ended after staging qualifiers in four cities in the country.

Mombasa kick-started the 2023 edition of the tournament at the Aga Khan grounds. Kisumu hosted the western region games at the Jaramogi Odinga Odinga Sports Complex.
Rift Valley region made a debut in the tournament by staging the games in the ‘Home of Champions’, Eldoret. Nairobi was the last to host the qualifiers of the series as a precursor to the National Finals of the tournament.
The tournament which was organized by Red Bull Kenya in partnership with the Kenya Basketball Federation sort to identify and grow 3X3 talent in the country.
Mathew Kibet captained a team that had national team players Griffin Ligare and James Mwangi as well as Derrick Olang who was part of Kenya’s representatives to last edition’s World Finals held in Egypt to victory.
On their part, Zetech Sparks quartet of skipper Ashley Minayo, Beryl Aoko, Agnetta Kambua and newbie Evelyne Diana will be flying the Kenya women’s flag in Belgrade.
Ambrose Kisoi, KBF Secretary General lauded Red Bull Kenya for being part of the tournament that acted as a fodder for nurturing basketball talent in the country.
“We have identified talent that will be enlisted into the national team, especially in the 3x3 basketball. To further plug into this competition, we have organized an exhibition game between the winners of this tournament and the national team that will be representing the country in the Beach Games in Bali, Indonesia this year,” he offered.
This will be the second time Kenya will be representing the country in the World Finals. The staging of the games will be in Belgrade, Serbia which is considered the home of 3x3 basketball.
